Valet Parking Unit in Athens International Airport

ARCHITECTURE

Location: Αthens International Airport
Surface: 20m2
Status: Completed
Year: 2009
Team: Louis Barault, Katerina Koulouri

The new Executive Valet Parking booth at the Athens International Airport sponsored by the car company Lexus, was designed to integrate into the dynamic environment of the Airport retaining the basic aesthetic parameters that characterize the corporate identity of the company Lexus.
This structure renegotiates the boundaries and the commitments of the ephemeral, hosting a space of contemporary design.
The concept is defined by the main rectangular volume which embraces a second volume. This volume defines the enclosed office space and also includes the necessary auxiliary facilities.
Transparency creates a friendly customer service area and separates the waiting area from the office area.
The horizontality of the building is disrupted by a sharp rise on which the company’s trademark is placed thus achieving a peripheral visibility.
The marketing of the corporate identity is highlighted by the use of audiovisual means as well as large digital prints on the glass panels.
