PIZZA MARGHERITA Restaurant Design

The design approach combines a dynamic concept with a feeling of hospitality and comfort. The materials used are friendly ‘in touch’ and reflect the intention to create an outcome cosy and warm referring to a homely, family-like kitchen.  The ground floor consists of the customer service area, the production area, and the seating area. At the first floor, the resting areas, a small office, and an additional space for the preparation of dough are located. Having a linear arrangement of the bench, the wooden oven is placed at the centre of interest of the store. It is embedded by beech planks, which are used both as timber for the oven and as incineration material. Solar shading is achieved by the use of a motif, inspired from the technique of decorative process of timber. This technique comes from Italy at 16th century. At the entrance, many tools of service are placed at different heights and create a dynamic play between light and shadow.
